Laurie Battaglia

Managing Director and Executive Vice President

Laurie Battaglia is the executive vice president and managing director for CQ-Roll Call, the premier political news and information providers covering Capitol Hill. Boasting the largest and most experienced newsroom in Washington, D.C., CQ-Roll Call is the leader in providing insight and analysis about the workings of Congress. In addition, CQ-Roll Call is the leader in helping organizations reach Congressional influentials through advocacy advertising and grass-roots mobilization.

Laurie is a respected media and publishing executive with more than 20 years of experience in the Washington, D.C., Congressional media market. Laurie is credited with growing the legacy brand, Roll Call newspaper, into the largest media brand covering Congressional politics. CQ-Roll Call is now internationally recognized, with a diversified portfolio of media and information services and more than 400 employees. Throughout her distinguished career with the organization, which began in 1988, Laurie's professional accomplishments have been recognized within the organization, through increasing responsibility and promotions to publisher and now executive vice president and managing director. Laurie is also part of the senior management team of the Economist Group.

Mike Mills

Editorial Director and Senior Vice President

Mike was named editorial director and senior vice president of CQ-Roll Call Group after Roll Call’s acquisition of Congressional Quarterly in July 2009. Prior to joining CQ-Roll Call Group, Mike worked as editor of the Washington Business Journal from 2007 to 2009, as executive editor at Congressional Quarterly from 2001 to 2007, and as staff writer for the Washington Post from 1994 to 1999.

Keith White

Senior Vice President and Associate Director

Keith became senior vice president and associate director of CQ-Roll Call Group in August 2009. He joined Congressional Quarterly in 2001 as the General Manager of CQ’s professional publishing division. Before CQ, Keith served as the vice president of publishing and product development for LexisNexis. He holds a B.A. in English literature from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Administration, where he was a Batten Fellow.

Dennis Arndt

Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Dennis joined Roll Call in April 2009, and became the senior vice president and chief technology officer with the acquisition of Congressional Quarterly. Dennis has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry and has held senior level positions at companies including JumpTap, Monster Worldwide, Omgeo and IBM.

Leilani M. Brown

Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Leilani joined CQ Roll Call as senior vice president and chief marketing officer in April 2010. Prior to joining the company, she served as vice president, brand management for MetLife’s U.S. Business Organization and as a vice president and profit center executive for American International Group, Inc. Leilani is a graduate of Middlebury College and has a Master of Public Administration from New York University.

Neil Maslansky

Senior Vice President, Strategy and Development

Neil was appointed senior vice president for strategy and development in August 2009. Previously, he was Congressional Quarterly’s chief financial officer/treasurer and, prior to that, the senior director of strategy, business and product development. He has also held management positions with LexisNexis, Congressional Information Service and PC Data.

Arnie Thomas

Senior Vice President, Client Relationships

Arnie was the former senior vice president for GalleryWatch Inc. He started his career in Washington DC at LEGI-SLATE, Inc., a Washington Post subsidiary, where he directed the Senate, Law and Support divisions.

Douglas (Chip) Wallen

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Chip joined Roll Call as director of finance in February 2008 and moved to senior vice president and chief financial officer with the acquisitions of Capitol Advantage and Congressional Quarterly. Previous experience includes positions with American Lawyer Media and Congressional Quarterly. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his MBA from The College of William and Mary.

Mark Walters

Senior Vice President, Advertising

Mark joined CQ-Roll Call Group as senior vice president, advertising in July, 2010. Prior to joining the organization, Mark was vice president of D & B Digital, where he drove significant growth in online revenues. Prior to D & B Digital, he was associate publisher, online advertising for Newsweek, where he attained a 450% increase in sales revenue by creating and capitalizing on cross-media opportunities. Walters, who brings nearly 20 years of online and print sales leadership experience, is frequently called upon to present information relating to publishing industry trends.

Rodney Whitmore

Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Rodney joined CQ-Roll Call Group as senior vice president and chief human resources officer in 2009. Prior to joining the organization, he served as senior vice president, human resources at Cardinal Health. Previously, he held key leadership roles at NetJets, Inc., Federated Systems Group, PepsiCo, Inc., The Kroger Company and The Procter & Gamble Company. Mr. Whitmore holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management.
